Don't panic. I don't know how many miles you have on your Savage but mine started leaking at about 5 thousand miles. I just passed the 37 thousand mark and it still leaks. My first leak stared oozing from the rear of the head where the air holes that run through the cylinder head are. I had it fixed twice under warranty. Apparently the leak was coming from around the cylinder bolt. Apparently there are rubber gromets or washers in there that tend to leak on the Savages. The finnlay fixed those leaks but a small leak started at the front head bolt around 12K. I never had it fixed. It's a fairley slow leak and have had it ever since. I wipe the bolt off every morning before work and tighten the bolt every once in a while. Small oil leaks on the head of the Savage engines are quite common (in fact I don't think I've seen a Savage without a leak around the head gasket at some point. the point is, if it's not a big leak, and you are not under warranty any more, I would live with it. The bike will run fine. Just remember to check your oil level and change it regularly. Good luck.
